Posting Your Scores
POSTING YOUR ADJUSTED SCORE

When you find the posting station, you should see the starting screen displayed. This screen will have a unique background field with a half golf ball on the left side and “Press Enter to post a member score” superimposed on the background field. The half golf ball contains the NCGA logo and six green buttons. If you see any other display, press the Esc[ape] key to return to the starting screen.

The top button on this display is labeled “Post Member Score”, and the second button is labeled “1. Post Guest Score”. Press enter to post a member score, meaning your a member of that club, or press 1 to display the Guest Score Posting screen. Unless you are a member of the club where the posting station is located, you are considered a guest of that club. The Member and Guest Posting screens are nearly identical except
that the darker green button identifies which posting screen is being displayed. If you enter your NCGA number on the Members' Posting screen and the number you entered is highlighted indicating an error, press the Esc[ape] key to return to the starting screen, and then enter 1 to display the Guest Score Posting screen. If you make an error at any step of this procedure, press the ESC[ape] key to start over. Depending on the screen displayed, you may be returned to the previous screen or taken all the way back to the starting screen.

*** Never post a Boulder Creek Men's Club tournament score. All Boulder Creek Men's Club tournament scores are posted by the Boulder Creek Men's Club Tournament Director.

If you selected Home, the next screen displays the home course’s tees, and if you selected a 9-hole score, the front and back 9 tees are displayed. Use the arrow keys to select the tee you played and press Enter to proceed. If the tee you played is not given on the current display, use the Page Up or Page Down keys to display more tees. At the top of the tee selections, Other is given as a selection. If you select Other, you will be asked to enter the Course Rating and Slope for the tee you played.

If you selected Away, enter the Course Rating and Slope for the tee you played.

When you have selected the tee you played, press Enter to proceed. Note that the tee selection screen gives a (-Previous) button. Press the dash key to return to the previous screen.

HOW MANY HOLES DO I POST

The number of holes you played determines the number of holes you post. If you determine from the chart below you need to post 9 or 18 holes but you actually played less holes than the number required to post, the score(s) you post for the remaining holes you didn't play is the par for the hole plus any strokes you would receive if you played the hole.

Example: A player completes holes 1 through 8. According to the chart below, the player is required to post a score for 9 holes. The 9 hole not played is a par 4. According to the players handicap, they would of received 2 strokes on the 9 hole. So the player would record 6 strokes for the 9 hole ( par plus 2 strokes from his handicap).

9-HOLE SCORE POSTING ~ Back to Top

When you post a 9-hole score, it will be communicated to GHIN where it will wait for your next 9-hole score to arrive. When the next 9-hole score arrives, the two 9-hole scores are combined to produce an 18-hole score.

Its important to post 9-hole scores at the club where you played. Not all courses have a course rating and slope for nine hole play. When posted at the course where played, the posting station will determine the course rating and slope for nine holes.

POSTING SCORES ON THE INTERNET ~ Back to Top

Internet score posting is finally here! It is critical that you understand that the NCGA doesn't want this option used in lieu of posting before you leave the course. You should use Internet score posting only on those rare occasions that you forget to post at the course, the course's posting machine is not available to you, or for posting rounds played at non-NCGA courses. If the NCGA finds that our members are using the option excessively, they will take Internet score posting away from the Boulder Creek Men's Club, and they get to define excessively.

To use Internet score posting, go to the NCGA Internet Score Posting web site. On the Internet Score Posting screen enter your NCGA number (with no dash) and either your last name (up to 8 characters) or you club number (532761 for men or 532763 for women). Click the Next button and the Score Posting screen will come up in a new window. Always use Away for the Score Type. Change the date and/or number of holes played if necessary. Enter the Slope and Rating of the tees you played and enter your ESC adjusted score. Click the Post button when all of the data is entered. Please use it sparingly!
